Malaysia’s stock market trading will start at 9.30 am Malaysia time today as the pre-opening phase has been extended, Bursa Malaysia Bhd said in a statement.

The delay in the start of trading came after the auto buying-in orders weren’t displayed.
The exchange is in the midst of rectifying the issue, it said in a separate statement earlier. - Bloomberg

AIRASIA
AirAsia says Q1 load factor rises
Malaysia’s AirAsia, Asia’s biggest budget carrier by fleet size, is on track to achieve double-digit passenger growth this year as demand grew in the first-quarter from a year ago.

AirAsia’s January-March load factor, or percentage of seats filled, were higher than what it achieved in the same period a year ago, said its regional head of treasury Aireen Omar.
“Based on the performance in the first-quarter, we believe we should be able to achieve our target of passenger growth of double digits this year,” Aireen, a former investment banker, said in an email interview.
AirAsia, Airbus’ biggest customer for the A320-200, will take delivery of 16 aircraft this year to replace its older Boeing 737 in Thailand and Indonesia, said the executive.

It will take delivery of another 89 new aircraft from 2011 to 2015, she said.
Last year, AirAsia pushed back the delivery schedule for some of its orders with Airbus after the airline industry was hit hard by the global financial crisis.
Aireen does not expect further rescheduling for now.
“Overcapacity is not a concern as we are seeing growth in our load factors. We don’t see any adjustment required in the forseeable future,” she said. - Reuters

Affin maintains 'reduce' rating on MAS
Shares of MAS traded higher right after the announcement of its better-than expected Q4 2009 results, gaining some 15 per cent to peak at RM2.19. Share price has since eased slightly to RM2.18, and despite the retracement, valuations is still lofty.

Affin said the target price remains unchanged at RM1.89, pegged to current year 2010 price earning ratio of 21.5 times, in line with the average valuation accorded during the last up cycle back in 2007.
Affin maintains the "reduce" rating on concerns over yields recovery (a function of ticket prices).
It said while the worse may be over, judging by the strong passenger figures reported for Q4 2009 and forward booking trend, heavily discounted airfares are still prevalent.

"This will curb a substantial recovery in yields and hence, profitability. As such, we believe it is still too premature to turn positive on MAS." - Reuters

Dow could hit 11,000 this week

NEW YORK: The Dow industrials could hit 11,000 this coming week, starting March 29 as investors bet the U.S. labor market had a significant turnaround in March, showing the economic recovery is in good shape, according to Reuters.

The Dow and the S&P 500 stock indexes are at their highest in nearly 18 months and the expected repositioning before Wednesday's end of the quarter could provide further support. With the Dow closing above 10,850 on Friday, it would need to rise 1.4 percent -- or a tad less than 150 points -- to reach 11,000 level.

HOW TO BE RICH BY USING COMPOUNDING

Suggestions from AHYAP

1. Don’t buy a Toyota Vios or a Honda City yet! These are fresh graduates favorite cars. Don’t even buy a Proton Savvy or Proton Wira! Just buy a damn Proton Iswara (or Honda 70)! If you buy a Honda City, you probably will drive the Honda City for your whole life. But if you buy an Iswara and save the remaing for compounding, you can drive an S Class or BMW 7 series or even a Porsche 20 years later (buy 2nd hand one lar, cheaper). If you really want to buy a better car, buy it only after you have saved RM100,000.

2. Don’t buy a house yet! Rent a small cheap room for the first 5 years or stay with your mum! Buy a house only after you have saved your RM100,000 capital. If you get a housing loan too early, it is VERY hard for you to save the RM100,000 because of the heavy installments. A house is NOT an asset -> Read the book ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’. It will only make your poorer.

3. Don’t buy medical card and insurance yet! My insurance friends are going to kill me on this. But I still have to say it. Buy it only after you have saved your RM100,000! If you really want to buy, a better plan is to kill yourself after 2 years so your family will have the RM100,000 insurance claim to compound and let them get rich. Why can’t you just take the risk of not having an insurance policy for another 5 years? Most probably you don’t have any insurance policy when you are studying in University and in secondary school. Most people spend 10 to 20% of their income in insurance. That’s a lot of money!

4. Don’t get married yet! Uhhhh. This is not an advice, this is just the truth. When you have a family (even just a girlfriend), you will tend to overspend. Luxurious dinners, gifts and entertainments…

Furthermore, females are weaker with money (a.k.a. NUMBERS). It is very hard for them to understand why you need to save so much and the concept of compounding. I am not discriminating female, I am just telling the truth. Female hates physics and maths in secondary school because their brains are not design to process numbers. For girls, it is always better to buy a new shoe and a new Sony Ericsson right now, than to see it grow 36 times in 20 years so she can buy many many LV bags and Coach bags.

Girls are also brain washed by their parents since they are kids. If you want to marry her, you need to buy her a house and put her name on it. No house, no wife. You will also need to buy her an EXPENSIVE wedding ring. Because she says the SIZE of the ring represent how much you love her! Wedding dresses, wedding dinner, wedding album…. you have got to show that you love her, with MONEY.

[Girls, if you have a RM5,000 budget to buy a diamond ring today and you spend all to buy it, your diamond ring will immediately worth 50% less because it is now 2nd hand. And you will never have the chance to sell it at RM5,000 again in your whole life. If you buy a RM1,000 ring and put the RM4,000 to compound, you can buy a RM96,000 diamond ring 20 years later]

AIRASIA

LOW-COST carrier (LCC) AirAsia Group (5099) expects to carry some 27 million passengers this year, up from the 24 million passengers achieved last year.

AirAsia group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes said AirAsia, together with its long-haul affiliate, AirAsia X will be able to achieve 27 million passengers as load factors remain strong and signs of economic recovery are underway.
We will use the new plane deliveries this year to continue driving our initiative of becoming a full-fledged Asean carrier this year," Fernandes told reporters at an AirAsia event in Sepang, Selangor, yesterday.

Despite AirAsia deferring the delivery of eight new A320s this year, it will still be taking in 16 new A320s, with most planes being utilised by its associates, Thai AirAsia and Indonesia AirAsia.
Fernandes also said that flights to Thailand are continuing as per normal with healthy load factors despite the current political turbulence in Bangkok.

High Court Auction

Inilah sistem birokrasi di Malaysia..

Disini aku ingin melahirkan rasa kecewa + kesal + sedih dgn sistem birokrasi yg ada di negara kita skrg..pada bln 11 2009 aku telah masuk 1 High court auction di kota bharu, Proclamation Of Sale (POS) telah dikeluarkan oleh pihak bank yakni CIMB..so aku g laa auction then aku dpt laa, spatutnya pkul 10 pg dh bermula, tp pkul 11 lebih br start..rupanya si auctioneers nak main aku siap sindir2 ckp tanah ni naik air..aku ignore jer kata2 dia..so aku msik bid tnpa org fight aku..hahaha...then lpas declare aku successful bidders auctioneers charge aku RM350...

within 120 days aku clear amount 95 % from reserved price,..lpas tu aku push pihak bank..dlm masa sminggu bank released surat ke lawyer diaa kt temerloh...

ni yg aku paling perit..dkat 3 bln dia delay..bodoh nye lawer..aku pn heran jgak nape laa bank ni appoint firm ni jd panel dia..then aku push bank blk,,,aku deal dgn bank bkn dgn court,so aku nk hak aku,,pastu bank trus push...

MASwings poised to take off in BIMP EAGA

TOULOUSE, France: Commuter airline MASwings, which currently only serves the travel needs of Sabah and Sarawak, is banking on expanding its services to the BIMP EAGA region by October this year, said managing director Datuk Salleh Tabrani.

(BIMP EAGA refers to Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, East Asean Growth Area.)
The move, it is hoped, will create a growth driver for the Malaysia Airline’s wholly owned and loss-making subsidiary. Some 75% of its routes under the Rural Air Services (RAS) are not commercially viable but are undertaken as a social obligation whereby the Government subsidises the losses.

BANK NEGARA MAY HIKE RATES FURTHER

MATRIK VS DIPLOMA

Pelajar B pula memasuki tahun kedua pengajian diploma.

LEPASAN SPM...MATRIK/DIPLOMA/ASASI

OASIS- WONDERWALL

I just finished reading some good article..here i paste:-

Analogous to the general guessing game Mlodinow mentions in his book, let's consider two strategies:

1. Buy-and-Hold Strategy: Since the market rises during 75% of the years, one could just go long the market by buying an exchange-traded fund tracking the S&P 500 Index (or buying individual stocks), without attempting to time the market at all. A buy-and-hold investor can expect to generate positive returns 75% of the years but must also accept the unavoidable "fact" that the market will typically fall 25% of the time. In this "simpleton" strategy, an investor's long-run win percentage (i.e., the percentage of years the investor's portfolio will show positive returns) is expected to be 75%;

2. Market-Timing Strategy: A presumably more "sophisticated" investor will, through some combination of fundamental and technical analysis and application of his general intelligence and market wisdom, come up with a convincing explanation for why the market is more likely to rise (or fall) during any particular year. Believing he can distinguish beforehand (i.e., predict) which years are among the 75% "green" years when the market will rise and, likewise, which years are among the 25% "red" years when the market will fall, such an investor will want to go long 75% of the time and stay out of (or go short) the market 25% of the time

I like this really much,,,,
Wealth Accumulator's Philosophy: What's important is accumulating as much wealth as possible during one's lifetime. Be frugal, even to the point of being miserly. Save as much as possible from one's earnings, prudently invest one's savings, and reinvest as much as possible of one's investment earnings. An example of this type of thinking is self-made billionaire, Warren Buffett, who not only is worth some $40 billion but is rumored to have once stooped down to pick up a penny in an elevator, remarking to those around him, "This is the start of my next billion."

Time to go work now..

4:28PM:  FELDA going to listed soon?
THE listing exercise of the world’s largest plantation conglomerate, Felda group, may still be up in the air but the on-going reorganisation within its units, Felda Global Ventures Holdings Sdn Bhd and Felda Holdings Bhd, indicates otherwise-thestar

MAXIS
Should existing shareholders of Maxis Bhd bear the cost of its initial public offering when the proceeds went to its selling shareholders and not into the company’s coffers?

That was the question that was being asked by several market observers following Maxis’ recently released fourth quarter results. For the period, the company made a one-time charge of RM120mil largely related to IPO expenses – RM53mil for discount of shares issued to retail investors in relation to the IPO and RM24mil listing expenses (the remaining RM43mil involves higher finance costs which is not IPO related) – in the company’s income statement. (Note: in the third quarter, it had made a charge of RM26 mil for IPO expenses.)- thestar

Fuel subsidy proposal to be tabled soon
The Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry will table a new proposal on the restructuring of the fuel subsidy to the Cabinet soon.

Its minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said the ministry, with cooperation from the Subsidy Rationalisation Lab, would propose the best implementation mechanism to channel all subsidies including fuel, food or infrastructure. -BT

TOP PICKS FROM JP MORGAN
Malaysian banks such as CIMB Group Holdings Bhd and government-linked companies including Sime Darby Bhd may gain as faster-than-expected economic growth this year underpins earnings, JPMorgan Chase & Co said.
Fourth-quarter earnings last year “have been robust, setting the stage for a strong 2010,” Chris Oh, an analyst at JPMorgan, said in a report yesterday.
Corporate profits may increase 20.7 per cent this year after growth of 3.3 per cent in 2009 as the Southeast Asian nation emerged from its first recession in a decade in the last quarter. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has unveiled RM67 billion of stimulus measures and accelerated efforts to open up the economy to attract more foreign investors.
JPMorgan, which covers 35 companies in Malaysia, said other top picks include Public Bank Bhd, AMMB Holdings Bhd, energy utility Tenaga Nasional Bhd, Genting Bhd, Asia’s largest listed casino operator, and builder IJM Corp.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index, which rallied 45 per cent last year, advanced 0.5 per cent to 1,290.33 as of 10:54 am local time, set for the highest close since January 25.
The government has eased rules governing overseas investors, initial public offerings and property purchases in a bid to lure more foreign money and shore up the economy.

Some Traction’
With “some traction on Prime Minister Najib Razak’s reform agenda, coupled with the take-off of some large infrastructure spending, the risk to 2010 earnings growth remains to the upside,” Oh wrote.
Malaysia emerged from recession last quarter with gross domestic product rising 4.5 per cent from a year earlier. Malaysia’s exports may rise 6 per cent to 7 per cent this year, International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed said near Kuala Lumpur today. Higher export growth is needed for Malaysia to achieve economic expansion of 5 per cent to 6 per cent this year, he said.
Economic expansion is now “likely” to exceed 5 per cent this year after growth was better than expected in the fourth quarter, Oh said in the report. -- Bloomberg
