AirAsia posted net profit of RM76.65 million in the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2009, a turnaround from the net loss of RM201.73 million a year ago, expected it to benefited from passenger growth and ancillary income.Group CEO Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes iis upbeat about its prospects in 2010 following early signs the global economy is stabilising while the benefits are already visible in the aviation industry.He said it had identified nine new routes to be launched and this will support passenger growth of 11%-14% in 2010. Based on the forward booking trend, the underlying passenger demand in the first quarter 2010 is positivE.
Maxis Bhd reported earnings of RM503 million in the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2009 on the back of RM2.21 billion in revenue, boosted by higher subscriptions.The telco giant’s earnings per share were nine sen and it declared both an interim dividend and proposed a final dividend of six sen and three sen, respectively – totaling RM675 million.In addition to the RM450 million paid in the third quarter, the total dividends for FYE 2009 post Maxis’ listing on Nov 19 last year was RM1.125 billion.For the financial year ended Dec 31, 2009, total earnings were RM1.578 billion on the back of RM7.611 billion in revenue.

Transmile Group Bhd’s pre-tax loss for its fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2009 widened by 713% to RM212.99mil from RM26.19mil in the corresponding quarter in 2008.
Its revenue dropped to RM46.66mil from RM55.69mil previously.
For the full year, Transmile’s pre-tax loss rose 123.35% to RM270.61mil from RM121.16mil in the previous year as revenue declined 48.37% to RM151.21mil from RM292.88mil

UMW Holdings Bhd’s net profit for its fourth quarter ended Dec 31 fell 16.7% to RM99.75mil from RM119.69mil in the previous corresponding period as its associate companies overseas were hit by the weak demand for oil and gas (O&G) pipes.
Its revenue however, rose to RM2.97bil from RM2.89bil previously due to higher sales of Toyota vehicles and automotive parts.

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airlines System Bhd (MAS) was back in the black in the fourth quarter of 2009, reporting RM610mil in net profit after a RM299.6mil loss in the third quarter.
Net profit for fiscal year 2009 was RM490mil, the company said in a statement.
In the third quarter that ended Sept 30, MAS had posted a net loss of RM299.6mil mainly due to a loss of RM202mil in derivative marked-to-market on fuel. MAS narrowed its operating loss to RM73mil for the quarter from RM421mil losses reported in the preceding quarter.In the fiscal fourth quarter, MAS carried 3.4 million passengers attributed to “aggressive” domestic and global sales campaigns and “competitive” pricing, coupled with the seasonal peak travel period, the company said. -thestar online

JCY INT : No matter what they say, i ll buy and hold..Just subcribed JCY Int and successful amount were 4000 froom 5000..noticed that it ll cut its IPO price to 1.60 but no official news yet. So just waiting this coming 25th February and my TP 2.30.
MAXIS : I ll sell my Maxis after its announce report for this qurater. TP 5.40
